Iris Mishly

With a background in fashion and graphic design, creativity is in Iris Mishly’s blood. In 2005, a neighbor invited her to a workshop, and she quickly became fascinated by it. At first she made pieces out of millifiori canes but now she explores a variety of techniques, as well as combining polymer with other materials. Iris is the creator of PolyPediaOnline, a source for tutorials on polymer. She conducts workshops and enjoys working with the younger generation. “Teaching is important to me at this stage as an artist. The only way to grow is to learn, learn and learn more.”

Iris is constantly thinking of new, innovative techniques to teach her blog followers and website customers. “I see myself as a polymer world ambassador and I’ll do my best to spread the news further and further.”  Iris's art is constantly evolving as she looks for new ideas for tutorials. “My customers and followers tell me what they are interested in, what they want to learn and I try to think of a new ideas to match their desires and needs.

Polymer clay, for me, is something you do with your hands but it comes from inside you, heart, feelings, mind. Something that involves a therapeutic process and the result of the creation has a special meaning.” She sells her work online on Etsy and locally in Israel where she lives in a small community with trees and nature all around.  She was FIMO Staedtler guest artist and presenter at the "CreativeWorld 2012" trade fair held in Frankfurt, Germany. When she is not claying, she loves to read and spends a bit too much time worrying about her two teenage children.
