Sophy Dumoulin

Sophy lives in the north of France, near Lille.

After having raised her twin daughters and having a very full filling job, Sophy was in need of a hobby that would focus her energy. Her family circle calls her “Mrs. 1000 volts.” When strolling in a craft store one day, she had the desire to create jewelry with her own beads. With the help of a book on polymer clay techniques and a few blocks of clay, she dived into this new adventure. After struggling to find spare time during week-ends for creating, the need to transpose her ideas to the clay became vital to her.

Since 2006 her thirst for learning grows and grows. Finding her own techniques is often due to mistakes, hesitations and research, but the final results can be astonishing. She mainly finds satisfaction in surface treatments rather than caning. Mixing inks, powders and paints with polymer clay is her favorite playground. She also loves mixing clay with other recycled materials.

Sharing this beautiful experience with other people quickly became a mission to her. She went on the web to meet people and found what she was looking for in 2009. She became a member of the French Association, Lezartgil, and attended several workshops with famous artists. Thanks to the trust of the association’s president she has now become teacher instead of student.

In return, she wishes to share her passion and experiences through CraftArtEdu.
