Kent Perdue

Kent’s background in woodworking stems from early childhood, where in his mind, it was done out of necessity. He would create forts in the woods, rafts, and bows and arrows. These skills were learned from his father, also a craftsman, he saw value in the ability to work with his hands.

Skip 20 years and that brings you to current day where Kent has now attended Virginia Commonwealth University’s Craft and Material Studies program focusing in Woodworking and Furniture Design. After the University, Kent was chosen for a one year Resident Artist position at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN.

These experiences have brought strength to his portfolio and have helped him exhibit work across the Nation. Kent is currently working out of his private studio in central Virginia.
